28 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #3

I turned 28 weeks pregnant last week, so I'm officially in the third trimester! Woot-woot!

So here's my 28 week pregnancy update:

Weight this week: 128.2 pounds - up about 3 1/2 pounds from 24 weeks!

Measurement around waist: 30 1/2" - same as 24 weeks.

Measurement around belly: 34" - up 1 inch from 4 weeks ago.

How big is baby? Baby weighs about 2 1/4 pounds, and is about 14.8 inches long from head to heel. About the size of a (large) eggplant!

Maternity Clothes: Holding steady with what I have for the most part. "Regular" (AKA non-PJ) clothes are starting to get more uncomfortable...

Movement: Ugh, so much kicking! This kid is seriously a strong kicker. Sometimes it even hurts!

Cravings: Nothing really. I've kind of reached the stage of pregnancy where I lose my appetite. Baby is taking up lots of room in my abdomen, and by the end of the day my belly is so tired and tight. Makes me not feel like eating a bunch at once.

Aversions: Nothing that I can think of!

Aches/Pains: My back and hips have been so bad lately! My back is really tired by the end of most days, and sometimes it even feels like it's throbbing. My hips are also really twingy. I went to the chiropractor at 29 weeks, which really helped! She recommended that I come in every week from here on out, and I was like, ha! I don't have time for that. But I'll try for every 2-3 weeks if I can.

Another fun thing that has developed is a floater in my eye. It's a small one, but it's still annoying. I'm hoping it goes away postpartum!

Sleep: Remarkably, I've been able to sleep fairly well lately. Though when I lie down to go to sleep is when baby starts the kicking-fest.

Fitness: I've been able to keep up with working out 2-3 days a week. This time of year is just hectic, and my energy levels are starting to dip. Sometimes it's hard to decide if I should just rest or push through and do a workout. I'm usually glad when I go ahead and just do it!

Midwife Visit: My midwife came for a checkup when I was 27 weeks.

I was measuring 27, right on track.

My urine test revealed that I was still spilling a lot of ketones again. My midwives also performed a blood test on my iron, and it showed that my levels were good! Which was really encouraging. All the beet powder and beef liver have been paying off!

My blood pressure was low, as per usual for me.

Reuben and I were both able to hear the baby's heartbeat with the fetoscope!

    I'm sorry to hear that your back is still bothering you. You really should take a look at this pregnancy support cradle:


    and see if it's something you think will help you. Having a sore back is the worst. You look a little thin, too. Are you eating enough? Can you add another snack or does the thought make you gag? Comparing your previous pregnancy pictures with this one, it looks like you're having another boy to me. :)

      Thank you for the suggestions! I've heard that if you can help it, not using a support belt can help you out in the long run since you aren't relying on the belt and forcing your muscles to do more of the work. But if my back got really bad, it's definitely something I would consider!

      Thank you for your concern! I *think* I'm eating enough? At least I'm eating until I'm satisfied. Overeating is a no-go since it tends to give me heartburn/indigestion. Maybe an extra snack would boost my energy levels. :)

      So interesting - I initially thought I was having a boy, but now I'm not sure. Haha! It will be so much fun to found out what this baby is!
