16 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #3

18 Weeks
I turned 16 weeks last week, but I never got around to writing up my pregnancy update. It was a CRAZY week.

So here's my 16 week update, a week late:

Weight this week: 115.6 pounds

Measurement around waist: 28"

Measurement around belly: 30"

How big is baby? Baby weighs about 3 1/2 ounces and is about 4 1/2 inches long. About the size of an avocado!

Maternity Clothes: Definitely! I started wearing them more full-time around 15 weeks. That's when my belly really popped out! Which seemed early compared to my previous pregnancies...

Movement: I started feeling the baby move for sure! I was wondering if that was what I was feeling at around 15 weeks, and there was no doubt at 16 weeks.

Cravings: My cravings have really subsided. Nothing significant comes to mind.

Aversions: Again, nothing major. The queasiness has let up. Hooray!

Aches/Pains: Around 15 weeks I was having some pretty bad hip pain if I was on my feet too long. That went away, but now my belly gets tight and tired if I'm on my feet too long. And it will hurt if I poke it in a certain spot. My back pain from sleeping has gone down a lot, but that could be because I'm not sleeping as long...

Sleep: I can't really sleep for 10 hours at night anymore. 8-9 hours seems about right. I was having some awful insomnia, but it seems to have subsided a bit for now...

Fitness: It's been hard to keep up with my fitness routine lately. We had a crazy week, and then school, work, and sickness have made it difficult. I'm hoping to consistently exercise at least 3 days a week...

And that's my 28 week pregnancy update!

  1. Hi Erica!

I'm glad you're feeling better now, and not having any issues with food or smells. I wanted to ask if you had thought about getting a pregnancy girdle to support your belly and take some of the strain off of your back? You and I are roughly the same size, although I am about thirty years older, and I had the same backache when I was pregnant. The girdle should help a lot and there are many different kinds from inexpensive, available at Walmart to fancy from specialty shops.

You look great and you new house sounds exciting! Thanks for all the updates. Take care of yourself and the new little one.

    All the best,

    1. Hey Diane,

I haven't tried a girdle, but I might have to if the pain gets too intense! And I need to remember to schedule a massage and chiropractic adjustment as well!

Thank you! We're so excited about the new house. 😊
