Early Autumn Sunrise

Autumn Sunrise
The other morning I woke up because my back was killing me (partly because of pregnancy, partly because of our horrid box spring). I crawled out of bed, clutching my pillow, and dragged a blanket out to our couch. I was hoping to catch a few more moments of sleep before the day began.

But I spotted the color on the horizon outside our picture window and the morning star just above the treeline. The photographer in me cried out to capture the moment.

After I was satisfied that I had a good picture, I was no longer tired.

So I decided an early-morning stroll was in order. I figured it just might help my back to not be so tight. It was lovely to stroll through the woods, seeing the world slowly change from twilight to dawn.

Autumn Sunrise
After I got home, the sun really started to show itself. And of course I had to capture the glorious beams of light.

I was able to experience all of this because of my aching back.

"Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forever.
From the rising of the sun to its setting
The name of the Lord is to be praised."
-Psalm 113:2-3

  1. What a gorgeous start to the morning :)

  2. See? The aching back was a blessing. I like to walk my dog before work every morning, so lately we have to start when the sky is just beginning to have those cotton candy cracks. By the end of the walk we are painted with the most glorious golden light. Every morning I thank God for it, because it's really just such a wonderful start to the day.

    1. Yes, I'm so glad that God gives us pleasure amidst our pain. Your early morning walk routine sounds lovely.
